Kettle Brand Cheddar Beer Potato Chips

Eric:  I like to drink beer and eat potato chips and eat beer potato chips.  Luckily for me, Kettle makes Cheddar Beer chips.

Ingredients:
Potatoes, safflower and/or sunflower and/or canola oil, whey, salt, Cheddar cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), natural flavors, yeast extract, torula yeast, sugar, lactic acid, citric acid, spice, paprika extract (color)

Unfortunately, there isn’t any actual beer in them, but they do taste beer-y, probably from the…well, I don’t know.   Lactic acid?  Spice?  Does someone make a beer spice? If so, I’d sprinkle some on pizza, pasta, cookies, milkshakes, tea, water, and beer.

The chips are actually really good, and do taste like beer.  They are malty, and somehow seem a little fizzy.  I had some with a glass of Ithaca Excelsior! 15th Anniversary Dark Rye Beer.  The beer was good but a little too crazy for a first beer. It would have been better as a change up somewhere in the  middle of the day. It’s pretty malty, spicy, roasty, kinda like dark fruit (raisins maybe?) and nuts.
