Telluride Brewing Co. Bridal Veil Rye Pale Ale
By: Josh Roberts
This beer is made from Snow Melt, or what Coloradans call “Water.”
But it’s the Rye and hops that really stand out when you peak behind the Bridal Veil. The combination gives this Pale Ale an almost IPA quality. There’s the piney and citrus hop forward aroma, but upon first taking this bride into the honeymoon suite of your mouth, you find her earthy and spicy. It’s somewhat deceptive how little citrus/pine comes through upon tasting.
The Rye balances the hops and add to the earthy and almost peppery spice flavor as well. Sure, over time, as the beer warms a bit, the bite of that first time lessens, but like any marriage, it settles into a domestic bliss that you will want to return to time and time again.
